Choreographic Workshop @ Vancouver

  • The Dance Centre 677 Davie Street Vancouver Canada (map)

Each season, Ballet BC offers workshops to our local dance community – focusing on training and development opportunities for the professional dance artist. Hosted by international artists from across Canada and the world, these choreographic workshops explore diverse perspectives and approaches to the creative process, such as learning repertoire and training for contemporary dance.

Open for Registration:
May 6, 2017 - Learn repertoire and explore the creative process at Ballet BC with Emanuel Gat, who will be teaching excerpts of his New Work from Program 3.

Emanuel Gat first encountered dance at the age of 23, during a workshop led by Israeli choreographer Nir Ben Gal. He started working as an independent choreographer in 1994. Ten years later he founded his company Emanuel Gat Dance at the Suzanne Dellal Centre in Tel Aviv. He has since created several pieces of which "Winter Voyage" (2004) and "The Rite of Spring" (2004) won a Bessy Award.

Currently settled in France at the Maison Intercommunale de la Danse in Istres, Emanuel is regularly invited to set his work and create new choreographies for dance companies around the world. For his full biography visit: balletbc.com/bio/emanuel-gat/
