Sextette is a work which looks to separate the habitual linkage between a certain movement style or technique, and a specific choreographic language. The canonic classical ballet material is present in this work within a contemporary way of thinking about the choreographic process. Classical variations are thrown into a contemporary work space, elaborated around the notions of collaborative and horizontal systems, a real-time organization of structures, fluid story-lines, changing dynamics and an active on stage relations between the dancers. The work is a questioning on possible avenues on how to both build upon the masters of the past while moving away from them.
